LINCOLN, Nebraska — Under coacth Matthulehere have been numerous roster changes for the Nebraska football team in less than 14 months.
Every position group seemed rejuvenated; some, like wide receiver and quarterback, had all-new players, while others, like defensive back and offensive line, had a combination of returning players and newcomers.
The Huskers have unquestionably strengthened their depth. They have, in part, profited from a shifting sports scene that has made the 85-player scholarship cap less noticeable.
A small number of new applicants, past walk-ons, and graduates may be eligible for NIL payments, which are the equivalent of scholarships, for programmes with strong NIL operations. College athletics is, in fact, a whole different world.
Not as crucial to monitor as the 85 is the 115-player roster cap for August’s preseason training. Thus, we present The 115 as a new standard. As players arrive and depart based on their performance in the offseason, a lot will change.
