Amarius Mims and Ladd McConkey are chosen by Cincinnati in the first two rounds of The Athletic’s mock draft.
This year, the Bengals have the 18th and 49th picks.
CINCINNATI — Dan Brugler of The Athletic reports that the Bengals will select two players from Georgia with their first two picks in the 2024 NFL Draft.
Amarius Mims, the consensus 17th-ranked player overall and fourth-best offensive tackle, is our first pick with pick number eighteen.
“Mims could be drafted top 10 or fall out of the top 20, and neither outcome would be overly surprising,” Brugler stated. “Despite only eight starts on his belt, the former five-star recruit’s scant film is fascinating. His physical attributes are remarkable, combining strength, size, and agility. The Bengals would prefer a more experienced prospect, but Mims’ skill level might be too great to ignore.”
With Ladd McConkey, a wide receiver, at pick 49, Cincinnati continued to attack. On the consensus big board, he is ranked 10th among wide receivers and 50th overall.
Brugler noted, “The Bengals go all-Georgia in the first two rounds.” “The trio of Ja’Marr Chase, Higgins, and Tyler Boyd has likely played its final game together, but adding an inside-outside talent like McConkey would ease the transition.”
