Following his injury on Sunday during the Buffalo Bills’ game against the New York Jets, safety Taylor Rapp of the Buffalo Bills had good news on Monday when all of his neck tests came back negative, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.

Late in the first half, Rapp was trying to tackle Breece Hall of New York when he collided with the running back and Taron Johnson, his own teammate. The team has described Rapp’s condition as a neck injury.

Rapp and Johnson were both declared out of the game after suffering concussions throughout the game.

According to reports, Buffalo’s medical team treated Rapp in the locker room rather than sending him to a hospital. With a concussion that forced Bills cornerback Dane Jackson to miss the game early, Buffalo’s defensive backfield was severely depleted.

Sunday night, head coach Sean McDermott informed reporters that Rapp was able to get some rest at home.

Rapp, 25, had made 10 appearances for the Bills this season, including two starts, totaling 25 tackles, a fumble recovery, and 0.5 sacks going into Sunday. After being selected in the second round out of Washington in 2019, he played his first four seasons in the NFL with the Los Angeles Rams, recording 330 tackles and nine interceptions.

Prior to the 2023 season, the Bills signed him to a one-year, $1.7 million contract, and he has supported Jordan Poyer as a backup.

It probably brought back terrible memories of Damar Hamlin going into cardiac arrest on the pitch last season and needing medical assistance to be resuscitated for both Bills organisation members and supporters.

After serving as a healthy scratch for the first three weeks of the season, he has since recovered and triumphantly returned to an NFL pitch this October. Hamlin did not do anything on Sunday.
