Kaizer Chiefs midfield sensation Mfundo Vilakazi has detailed a unique training routine under the guidance of the club’s new coach, Nasreddine Nabi.

Nabi is taking over the coaching role at Chiefs after signing a two-year contract with an option to extend for another year. The Tunisian tactician arrived with four technical team members to help him bring back the glory days at Amakhosi.

In a move to fully support highly-rated coach, the Chiefs allowed Nabi to bring in two assistant coaches, Khalil Ben Youssef and Fernando Da Cruz, while Ilyes Mzoughi and Safi Majdi will serve as goalkeeper coach and conditioning coach, respectively.

The new technical team is taking over from Cavin Johnson, who was in the hot seat as an interim coach. Johnson had a dismal showing as the coach of Chiefs after guiding the club to a disappointing 10th-place finish on the DStv Premiership table.

In the previous campaign, the Glamour Boys won nine league matches, drew nine, and lost 12 times in 30 matches.

Interestingly, Nasreddine Nabi’s arrival has renewed the hopes of Chiefs’ high-demanding fans, and they are confident of returning to the glory days next season.

Meanwhile, Mfundo Vilakazi has given his impression of Chiefs training under Nabi’s watchful eye, revealing that he loves putting in the hard work that the coach demands.

The Soweto-born attacker signed a first-team contract with the Soweto giants in the second round of the 2023/24 campaign.
