Alabama football knows its kickoff times for the first four games of the Kalen DeBoer era. Two of them were publicly revealed Thursday when the SEC announced them for its matchup with South Florida and Georgia, both of which will be in prime time.
The Sept. 7 matchup at Bryant-Denny Stadium with USF, a team that nearly knocked off the Crimson Tide in Tampa last season, is set to begin at 6 p.m. CT. It will be aired on ESPN.
Three weeks later, former Alabama defensive coordinator Kirby Smart returns to Tuscaloosa leading Georgia, in a rematch of the 2023 SEC championship game. That game, scheduled for Sept. 28, is set for a 6:30 p.m. kickoff on ABC.
The SEC’s new television deal with ESPN and ABC allows for more kickoff times to be announced in advance, with the conference dumping the first three weeks of the 2024 season on Thursday.
Two other Alabama games already had their start times revealed. The Crimson Tide’s season opener against Western Kentucky is set for 6 p.m. on Aug. 31 on ESPN.
UA will be part of Fox’s Big Noon Kickoff game on Sept. 14, when it visits Wisconsin. That game is scheduled for 11 a.m. CT.
Alabama has a bye week scheduled for Sept. 21, falling between Wisconsin and Georgia. The SEC will announce kickoff times for the rest of its games on June 11, though it will tag some as flex games, which could begin as part of either the afternoon or night slates.
