Pittsburgh Restaurant Bans Buffalo Sauce Ahead Of Bills vs. Steelers Playoff Game Bubba’s Gourmet Burghers and Beers, a restaurant just outside of Pittsburgh, is taking the Steelers’ playoff game against the Buffalo Bills very seriously.
Fans of the Pittsburgh Steelers, particularly those who live in Steel City, take their football very seriously, but this may top it all. About 20 miles outside of Pittsburgh in Southpointe, Pennsylvania, Bubba’s Gourmet Burghers and Beer is getting ready for Sunday’s playoff game against the Buffalo Bills in a way that may be most appropriate: on Monday, the restaurant posted on Facebook that it will not be selling buffalo sauce or buffalo chicken dip until after the game.
The restaurant’s Facebook page states, “Bubba’s Burghers – Southpointe is banning the sale of Buffalo Sauce until after the Pittsburgh Steelers Wild Card game on Sunday.” “We will not be selling Buffalo Sauce this week, but you are welcome to request ANY other flavour!!!!!! Buffalo Chicken Dip is also available at Bubba’s! “Buffalo Sauce Ban.”
In case anyone believed they weren’t being serious, the restaurant owners subsequently uploaded a follow-up video with placards promoting the ban on buffalo sauce.
Bubba Snider, the proprietor of the restaurant and radio presenter on Pittsburgh’s Star 100.7, provided a more thorough explanation of the prohibition.
“As a Steelers supporter, I’m not going to endorse anything buffalo in my restaurant during the playoffs, even though we all know that buffalo wings originated at the Anchor Bar in Buffalo. Story over,” Snider stated, as reported by CBS News Pittsburgh.
After three hours, Bubba’s customers will be able to buy buffalo sauce once more. The Bills and Steelers will play from Highmark Stadium at 1 p.m. ET.
