Chelsea supporters have been left stunned by a developing report claiming that head coach Xabi Alonso has been dismissed from his position at Stamford Bridge.

The alleged decision comes amid a difficult opening period for Alonso. Chelsea suffered a 3–0 defeat against Brentford on September 18, a result that extended their winless run to three league matches and highlighted continuing defensive problems.

However, there is currently no official confirmation from Chelsea that Alonso has been sacked. In fact, Chelsea appointed the Spanish coach on a four-year contract beginning July 1, 2026, while the Premier League currently lists his status as active.

The speculation is nevertheless likely to generate major discussion among Chelsea supporters, particularly after the club’s inconsistent defensive performances. Alonso himself has acknowledged that Chelsea need greater balance and consistency, especially after conceding goals in games they have otherwise competed well in.

If Chelsea were eventually to make a managerial change, attention would immediately turn toward potential replacements and the club’s plans for the remainder of the season.
