THIS IS THE BEST NEWS WE COULD HAVE HOPED FOR: In a moment that has sparked excitement among Celtic supporters, reports are circulating that legendary former Hoops star Aiden McGeady is set for a return to the organisation. This time, however, the former winger would be coming back in a new capacity, away from the pitch and into a senior role within the club.
McGeady remains a hugely familiar name to Celtic supporters after making a lasting impression during his playing career. His skill, creativity and memorable performances made him one of the standout figures of his generation at the club, and the prospect of seeing him return has naturally created plenty of discussion among the Celtic community.
The reported appointment would represent a new chapter for McGeady, allowing him to bring his years of professional football experience into a different area of the game. A senior position could see him work closely with players, staff and the wider football structure while helping pass his knowledge on to the next generation.
For supporters, a return from a former favourite would carry an obvious sense of nostalgia. McGeady’s connection with Celtic means his presence around the organisation would be warmly watched by fans who remember his time wearing the famous green-and-white colours.
At this stage, the exact details of the reported role and responsibilities would need to be confirmed officially. If the announcement is formally made, McGeady’s return could mark an interesting new chapter in his long relationship with Celtic—this time from the other side of the touchline.
