A highly anticipated documentary celebrating the remarkable life and career of Hull City FC legend Andy Davidson has reportedly been announced, promising to take supporters on an emotional journey through one of the most extraordinary careers in the club’s history.
Davidson, who became a legendary figure during his long spell with the Tigers, holds Hull City’s record for league appearances, having played 520 league matches for the club. He made 579 appearances in all competitions between 1952 and 1968.
The documentary will explore Davidson’s incredible journey at Hull City, from his arrival at the club to his transformation into a respected defender and captain. It is expected to feature rare archive footage, interviews, personal stories and reflections from people who knew the legendary footballer throughout his career.
One of the most anticipated sections will revisit Hull City’s successful 1965–66 campaign, when Davidson helped the Tigers win the Third Division title.
The production will also look beyond the football pitch, exploring Davidson’s relationship with Hull City and his continued involvement with the club after his playing career ended. He remained with Hull City as a scout, coach and assistant manager until 1979.
