A fictional story circulating online has sparked intense reactions among football supporters after making extraordinary claims involving former Derby County captain and legendary centre-back Roy McFarland, his wife Linda McFarland, and an alleged paternity dispute involving a child named Quardon.

The claims suggest that McFarland had allegedly discovered that Quardon was not his biological child and that his wife had allegedly been involved with a Derby County head coach. However, there is no credible evidence confirming these allegations, and they should not be treated as factual news.

McFarland remains one of the most celebrated figures in Derby County history. He joined the club in 1967 and went on to make more than 500 appearances, playing a key role in Derby’s title-winning teams of 1972 and 1975. He also represented England 28 times.

After retiring from playing, McFarland moved into management and eventually managed Derby County himself between 1993 and 1995. He has continued to maintain a strong association with the club and has been recognised as one of Derby’s all-time greats.
