A wave of excitement has swept through the Derby County community following reports that club legend Kevin Hector could be set for a return to the Rams in a senior role.

Hector remains one of the most iconic figures in Derby County history. The former forward enjoyed a remarkable career at the club and became a hugely respected figure among generations of supporters.

The prospect of seeing the legendary figure back at Pride Park has naturally generated plenty of excitement among Derby fans. Rather than returning to the pitch, any potential comeback would reportedly see Hector contribute his experience and knowledge away from playing duties.

Derby County are currently led by John Eustace, who was appointed head coach in February 2025 and remains in charge of the first team.

Eustace has spoken repeatedly about building the club for the future, while Derby continue to work toward strengthening the squad and creating a competitive team.

For supporters, the idea of Hector once again being closely involved with Derby County would carry enormous emotional significance. His connection with the club stretches back decades, making him one of the most recognisable names associated with the Rams.
