A major refereeing controversy has erupted following Celtic FC’s dramatic 2–1 victory over Falkirk FC, with referee Chris Graham coming under intense scrutiny after several decisions during the encounter sparked debate among supporters.

Celtic secured all three points at Celtic Park on August 29, with Camilo Durán scoring twice before Falkirk pulled one goal back through Colby Donovan’s own goal. Chris Graham was the appointed referee, while Greg Aitken served as VAR.

One of the biggest talking points came early in the match when assistant referee Dougie Potter initially flagged Camilo Durán for offside after he found the net. VAR subsequently reviewed the incident and determined that the goal should stand.

The controversial moment has fueled fierce reactions from football supporters, with questions being raised about the standard of officiating and whether the officials involved should face disciplinary review.
