Sunderland AFC could be preparing for a major move in the goalkeeping department, with James Trafford emerging as a potential new arrival at the Stadium of Light.
The England international goalkeeper has built a strong reputation for his performances in English football, particularly during his time with Burnley. His age, ability and experience at the highest level make him an attractive option for Sunderland as they look to strengthen their squad.
A move for Trafford would create significant competition for the goalkeeping position and could give Sunderland another high-quality option between the posts.
For Sunderland supporters, the prospect of seeing a goalkeeper of Trafford’s calibre arrive at the club would certainly be exciting. However, the transfer should be treated as a proposed or reported move unless Sunderland or the player’s club officially confirms that the deal has been accepted and completed.
