Excitement is building among Sheffield United supporters as Harry Souttar continues to be strongly linked with a return to Bramall Lane. However, despite reports of growing interest, there is currently no confirmed announcement that Souttar has signed a new contract with Sheffield United.
The Australian international remains a priority defensive target for manager Chris Wilder. Wilder previously confirmed that Sheffield United had held discussions with Leicester City about bringing the 27-year-old centre-back back to the club.
Recent reports indicate that the Blades have continued pushing for a deal, with an improved bid reportedly reaching around £10 million plus add-ons after earlier offers were rejected. Souttar has also reportedly indicated that he would like to leave Leicester, giving Sheffield United encouragement in their pursuit.
Souttar is a familiar figure to Sheffield United fans after his previous loan spell at the club. His strength, aerial ability and experience would provide Wilder with an important option at centre-back as the Blades look to strengthen their squad.
For now, supporters will have to wait for official confirmation before celebrating a completed transfer or new contract. If an agreement is reached, Souttar’s return could become one of Sheffield United’s biggest pieces of business this summer.
