Rangers FC are making a major push to bring highly rated Venezuelan striker Kevin Kelsy to Ibrox, with the club reportedly submitting a bid worth around £7.4 million for the Portland Timbers forward.
The 22-year-old striker has emerged as one of Rangers’ leading targets as manager Derek McInnes looks to strengthen his attacking options. Kelsy has impressed in Major League Soccer this season, making him an attractive option for the Scottish giants.
However, despite reports of Rangers’ strong interest and their sizeable offer, the transfer has not yet been officially completed. Portland Timbers are reportedly reluctant to sell the striker, while Kelsy is under contract with the MLS club through December 2028, with an option for another year.
If Rangers can reach an agreement, Kelsy could become a significant addition to McInnes’ squad. His physical presence, pace and goalscoring ability would give Rangers another powerful option in attack.
