Recent reports instead indicate that the Cameroon international remains a Brighton player. In fact, Baleba has recently been linked with interest from Newcastle United, while Brighton continue to value him highly.
The latest genuine setback surrounding Baleba is an ankle ligament injury suffered during pre-season. Reports say the injury could keep him out for a period and may affect his availability at the beginning of the 2026–27 campaign.
Baleba has been an important part of Brighton’s midfield since joining the club from Lille in 2023. His performances have also attracted interest from major Premier League clubs, demonstrating his importance and growing reputation.
