Barcelona midfielder Marc Bernal is reportedly set for fresh contract talks with the Catalan giants as the club looks to secure his long-term future.

Recent reports say Barcelona are preparing an improved contract offer for the 19-year-old midfielder, with sporting director Deco expected to discuss improved terms with the player’s representatives.

Bernal already has a contract with Barcelona until June 2029, following an agreement officially announced by the club in September 2025. That deal also included a €500 million release clause.

The latest negotiations are therefore understood to be aimed at improving his existing terms rather than replacing an expiring contract. Barcelona continue to regard Bernal as an important part of their future plans, despite competition for midfield places.

Reports also suggest that the potential arrival of Rodri has raised questions about Bernal’s playing time, but Barcelona remain keen to keep the young midfielder involved in the first-team project.
