A sensational claim is circulating online that Rangers FC manager Derek McInnes has announced a three-month shutdown of the club. However, there is currently no credible evidence that Rangers have announced any such shutdown.

Instead, Rangers are facing a difficult start to the 2026/27 campaign. The club recently exited the Europa League qualifying stage after a 1–1 draw with Jagiellonia Bialystok at Ibrox, losing 3–2 on aggregate. McInnes has also gone his first four competitive matches without a victory.

The disappointing European exit has understandably increased pressure and frustration among supporters. McInnes himself admitted that Rangers are not yet ready to compete at Europa League level, while the team now turns its attention to the Europa Conference League play-off round.

Despite the difficult beginning, Rangers officially appointed McInnes on a three-year contract in June 2026, and recent reporting indicates that the club’s board continues to back him.

Therefore, the claim about a three-month shutdown appears to be an unverified social-media story rather than an official Rangers announcement. Supporters should wait for confirmation from Rangers before believing or sharing the claim as fact.
