CAPTAIN’S MESSAGE: Ryan Yates Promises Nottingham Forest Fans “Really Exciting Times” as Forest Prepare for the New Season
Nottingham Forest captain Ryan Yates has delivered an encouraging message to supporters as the club prepares for the 2026/27 campaign
Yates’ comments come at an important moment for Forest following the arrival of new head coach Oliver Glasner. The Austrian manager has brought fresh ideas and a new tactical approach, creating renewed optimism around the squad and among supporters.
Speaking during pre-season, Yates highlighted the positive atmosphere within the group and the importance of building togetherness ahead of the new campaign. Forest’s official website reported that the captain felt the training camp had been particularly positive and was helping the players strengthen their unity.
Yates Excited by Glasner’s Arrival
One of the biggest talking points around the City Ground has been Glasner’s appointment. Yates has spoken positively about the new manager and believes his arrival can help Forest move forward.
Glasner arrives with an impressive record, having previously enjoyed major success with Eintracht Frankfurt and Crystal Palace. His reputation for demanding intensity and tactical discipline has generated considerable excitement around Forest.
For Yates, the challenge is now to ensure the players fully embrace the manager’s ideas.
A Leader in the Dressing Room
Yates’ role goes beyond what he does on the pitch. Having progressed through Forest’s academy before establishing himself in the first team, he understands the club and its supporters particularly well.
That experience makes him an important figure in the dressing room as Forest enter another demanding Premier League season.
The midfielder has also spoken about the club’s young players and the difficult pathway from academy football to regular Premier League action, drawing on his own experience of going out on several loan spells before establishing himself.
Forest Targeting a Strong Campaign
Forest will hope the optimism surrounding Glasner can translate into results when competitive football begins.
The club experienced European football last season, giving the squad valuable experience on a bigger stage. Yates believes the team can continue progressing and has expressed his desire to see Forest compete for silverware under the new manager.
The captain’s message will therefore be welcomed by Forest supporters who are eager to see what the new era can bring.
With Glasner working on his tactical system, the players building stronger relationships and the club preparing for the Premier League campaign, expectations are beginning to rise.
For Yates, the message is simple: Forest must keep progressing, remain united and take advantage of the opportunities ahead.
If the captain’s confidence is anything to go by, Nottingham Forest supporters could indeed have some really exciting times to look forward to.
