In one of the most unexpected transfer stories of the summer, Real Madrid goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois has reportedly agreed to a sensational four-year contract with French side FC Metz in a deal said to be worth €206.8 million.

According to reports, negotiations between the two clubs were completed after several weeks of discussions, with both parties finally reaching an agreement late on Friday evening. The Belgian international is now expected to undergo a medical before being officially unveiled as FC Metz’s new first-choice goalkeeper and one of the club’s marquee signings.

Speaking after the agreement was reached, Courtois reportedly thanked Real Madrid supporters for their unwavering support throughout his successful spell at the club.
