Crystal Palace FC are reportedly closing in on a major midfield addition, with highly rated central midfielder Hayden Hackney said to have agreed personal terms ahead of a potential switch from Middlesbrough FC to Crystal Palace FC.

According to emerging reports from transfer circles, the 21-year-old has given the green light to join the Premier League side, with only final club-to-club agreement now standing in the way of the deal being completed.

Crystal Palace are believed to have identified Hackney as a long-term solution for their midfield rebuild. Known for his composure on the ball, passing range, and ability to control tempo, the young Englishman has impressed consistently in the Championship and attracted attention from several top-flight clubs.

Palace’s recruitment team are said to be particularly excited about his versatility, as he can operate both as a deep-lying playmaker and a more advanced central midfielder when needed.

Middlesbrough, however, are reportedly reluctant to lose one of their most important academy-developed talents. Hackney has become a key figure at the Riverside Stadium, and the club are expected to demand a strong transfer fee if they are to sanction the move.
