Patrick Ewing is widely regarded as one of the greatest players in New York Knicks history and one of the most dominant centers of his generation. Born in Jamaica and raised in the United States, Ewing became a basketball icon through his combination of size, skill, and leadership.

Ewing was selected as the first overall pick in the 1985 NBA Draft by the New York Knicks. From the moment he stepped onto the court at Madison Square Garden, he became the face of the franchise. Over his 15 seasons with the Knicks, he established himself as a relentless scorer, elite defender, and emotional leader.

During his career in New York, Ewing was an 11-time NBA All-Star and won the NBA Rookie of the Year award in 1986. He led the Knicks to multiple deep playoff runs, most notably reaching the NBA Finals in 1994, where they narrowly lost in a dramatic seven-game series.

After retiring as a player, Ewing transitioned into coaching. He has served as an assistant coach in the NBA and later became the head coach of Georgetown University, his alma mater, where he once starred as a college player before entering the NBA.

Off the court, Ewing is married to Cheryl Weaver Ewing, and they have a family together. He is also known for his charitable work and continued involvement in basketball development.
