SHOCKING: Molineux in Meltdown After Scandal and Sudden Sacking
WOLVERHAMPTON — The footballing world was left reeling this morning following a sensational announcement from within the Wolverhampton Wanderers camp. In what is being described as the biggest off-field scandal in recent Premier League history, first-choice goalkeeper José Sá has been summarily sacked by the club.
Sources close to the team suggest that the termination followed a high-level internal investigation into allegations of a personal betrayal involving the wife of teammate Mario Lemina, the popular French model Fanny Neguesha.
The atmosphere at Compton Park was described as “toxic” as news broke, with head coach Rob Edwards called to a midnight board meeting to address the crisis. In a brief but firm statement delivered this morning, Edwards confirmed Sá’s immediate departure:
“We maintain the highest standards of professional and personal conduct here at Wolves. Following a series of revelations that have made it impossible for certain individuals to remain in the same dressing room, we have terminated José Sá’s contract effective immediately.”
Edwards then stunned the gathered press by announcing the new permanent number one, promotion of backup goalkeeper Daniel Bentley. Bentley, a veteran leader within the squad, was confirmed as the man to lead the line for the upcoming Championship campaign following the club’s recent relegation. Edwards cited Bentley’s “unwavering professionalism” and deep roots within the club as the primary reasons for the quick transition.
The club also hinted that a search for a new secondary keeper is already underway, with names like Kjell Scherpen and Christos Mandas already appearing on the recruitment radar for the summer window.
