The “King of Kings”, who remains one of the most revered figures in Celtic’s history with 242 goals in 315 appearances, broke his silence in an exclusive interview released moments ago, speaking with passion and urgency about the team’s current direction and his own desire to be part of its next chapter.
“I have been watching closely, and I know what this club is capable of,” Larsson said. “Celtic has always been about winning trophies, playing with style and making the fans proud. I see the hard work that Wilfried and the players are putting in every day, but I also know there is more potential to unlock. This club deserves nothing less than the very best, both domestically and in Europe.”
The Swedish icon went on to drop his biggest bombshell, directly addressing Nancy and the supporters:
“To Wilfried – you have brought a new way of playing, and I respect that fully. But if there is anything I can do to help, any experience I can share to take this team to the next level, I am here and ready. To the fans – you have given me everything, and I will never forget that. My heart will always be in Glasgow, and I want to see Celtic back where it belongs: dominating and competing with the best in Europe.”
Larsson, who retired from playing in 2009 and has since gained coaching experience across Europe, stopped short of confirming a specific role but made his intentions clear. “I am not here to take anyone’s job,” he insisted. “I just want to give back to the club that gave me so much. If they want my advice, my support or even my hands on the training ground, I am open to anything.”
The news has electrified the Celtic Park faithful, who have long called for Larsson to return in an official capacity. Social media has been flooded with messages of support, with fans hailing his words as exactly what the club needs to reignite its ambition.
