SHOCKING: Nick Woltemade Handed Unprecedented Three-Year Suspension Following “The Great St. James’ Park Puddle Incident”

NEWCASTLE — The Toon Army has been plunged into a state of utter disbelief this morning after the FA handed record-signing Nick Woltemade a historic three-year ban from all professional football. The decision follows yesterday’s chaotic scenes during a rainy afternoon match, in what is now being called “The Day the Striker Splashed Back.”

The Incident: A Goal Celebration Gone Overboard

The drama unfolded in the 92nd minute. After scoring a towering header to secure a late winner, the 6’6″ German giant decided to celebrate with a celebratory knee-slide toward the Gallowgate End. However, due to a sudden torrential downpour, Woltemade hit a massive puddle and didn’t stop—sliding entirely off the pitch, through the digital advertising boards, and reportedly all the way into the third row of the stands.

The situation turned surreal when Woltemade, rather than returning to the pitch, allegedly grabbed a fan’s discarded umbrella and attempted to “row” his way back to the center circle, claiming the pitch was now “technically a maritime zone.”

The FA’s Drastic Ruling

A spokesperson for the FA disciplinary committee released a statement at 7:00 AM today:
“While we encourage passion, Mr. Woltemade’s attempt to declare St. James’ Park an independent naval territory and his refusal to restart the game until he was addressed as ‘Admiral Nick’ has caused irreparable damage to the spirit of the game. The three-year ban reflects his commitment to the bit, which lasted far longer than the actual match.”

Eddie Howe in Disbelief

Manager Eddie Howe was seen pacing the touchline this morning, reportedly carrying a life jacket just in case. “I asked Nick to be a target man, not a merchant sailor,” Howe told reporters. “We are appealing the decision, but Nick is currently in the stadium bath, practicing his ‘sonar calls’ to the other strikers.”

What’s Next for the Magpies?

The Appeal: Newcastle lawyers are arguing that since Woltemade is 6’6″, he was “legally tall enough to be considered a lighthouse,” and therefore should be exempt from standard pitch rules.Replacement Plans: Yoane Wissa has reportedly been seen taking swimming lessons to prepare for the next rainy home game.Fan Support: Thousands of Newcastle fans have started a “Get the Admiral Back” petition, with many showing up to the training ground wearing snorkels in solidarity.
