Tottenham Hotspur have sent shockwaves through North London as club legend Glenn Hoddle returns to N17 — this time to take a senior coaching role with Tottenham Hotspur FC.
The 68-year-old Spurs icon, who made 490 appearances for the club and later managed the side between 2001-2003, confirmed his return at Hotspur Way this week. Speaking to club media, Hoddle explained that his coming back is to take the team to a place where “Tottenham’s identity is restored — attacking football, fearless football, the kind our fans deserve.”
“I’ve supported them since I was eight years of age,” Hoddle said. “This club is a massive part of my life. When they called, there was only one answer. My job is simple: lift these players, reconnect with the fans, and take this team back to where it belongs.”
The announcement comes after a turbulent period for Spurs, with the club battling near the bottom of the Premier League table. Hoddle’s arrival has already electrified the dressing room, with sources inside the club describing the mood as “the most positive it’s been all season.”
A UEFA Cup winner with Spurs in 1984 and one of the most gifted players to ever wear the lilywhite shirt, Hoddle brings pedigree, history, and an unmatched understanding of what it means to represent Tottenham Hotspur.
