While some Raider Nation members would prefer the Raiders to search for a new quarterback, Coach Antonio Pierce believes in Aidan O’Connell.

Aidan O’Connell is the starter for the Las Vegas Raiders, and coach Antonio Pierce has stated as much.

Since he started the young quarterback in his rookie season after taking over as head coach following Week 8 of the previous campaign, Pierce has had a long-standing admiration for O’Connell.

And even though Pierce is aware of the desire for a fresh face at QB1, that hasn’t altered since.

At the NFL Combine on February 28, Pierce stated, “[T]his is a hell of a draft class; there’s some really good free agents out there, too.” However, it is the same as it was following the Minnesota game. I chose to stick with Aidan even though everyone else thought I should bench him or do something else.

“Recall that on Day 1 I stated that? I said, “We’re going to stick with Aidan from now on.” I didn’t—I don’t go back because of what other people think I should do or what they advise me to do.

“Every day, the body of work is visible to you. Being in close proximity to someone helps you understand them a little better than if you only see them on Sundays or at events. I’m observing a gentleman who is aware of his shortcomings.

“And the moment the season ended, he immediately went back into the building to retrieve his posterior. As soon as we got this staff, he went straight up and introduced himself. That is undoubtedly a plus.

Additionally, talking about anyone else but Aidan would be impolite. Nonetheless, Maxx Crosby, Davante Adams, and Aidan are aware that there is competition. Therefore, you have to involve everyone if you’re going to involve the quarterback.
