In a 34-30 victory over the Bulldogs on Sunday, veteran Titan Kieran Foran recorded his first career hat-trick and rookie winger Alofiana Khan-Pereira also made history.
Josh Addo-Carr, a flyer for Canterbury, scored a thrilling solo try in the first half on his way to a hat-trick, but the Dogs’ defence lost the game once more.
Despite having the better of the early opportunities, the Bulldogs were unable to convert possession into points on the Gold Coast.
Then, in the fourteenth minute, Foran scored under the posts after bursting through the middle of the pitch from 20 metres out, leaving defenders clutching at air.
In the 22nd minute, the 33-year-old scored again after dummying and cutting past Viliame Kikau to complete a rare double, his fifth of his NRL career.
According to Steve Roach on Fox League, “Foran is in a running mood this afternoon… he took off again, the show and the go and he’s over.”
In the 34th, Addo-Carr unexpectedly pulled his team back into the game with a spectacular 70-meter solo try.
After scorching Aaron Schoupp outside, he outran two more defenders with deft footwork and quickness.
Josh Addo-Carr has just too much speed there for Aaron Schoupp, and The Foxx outperforms everyone else. It’s a complete mismatch, and Warren Smith stated, “The old Foxx unseats him quite convincingly. He was always going to be under pressure in this game.”
Outside, the Foxx simply BURNS the Titans.
