While this news may be mostly inconsequential for Louisville basketball next year, it is news about a returning player for next season. Walk on Aiden McCool will be returning for another season in 2024-25, as he posted he would be returning on his instagram.
McCool did have one of the more exciting moments last season where the Cardinals went 8-23. As the last 2 regular season points for the Cardinals were scored by Aiden McCool on his senior day when he shot 2 free throws at the end of a home loss against Boston College, which was a feel good moment for fans in the KFC Yum Center and Aiden McCool as well.
McCool coming back likely will have no real effect on the overall quality of the roster, but it is cool to see a walk on like this come back another season
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – One of the more underrated mid major transfers currently in the portal is joining the Louisville men’s basketball program.
Former Long Beach State forward Aboubacar Traore announced Thursday that he has given his verbal pledge to the Cardinals.
Traore is the seventh transfer to commit to Louisville so far this offseason. Guard Reyne Smith and center James Scott are both following new head coach Pat Kelsey from Charleston, while James Madison guard/forward Terrence Edwards Jr., Colorado guard J’Vonne Hadley and Washington guard Koren Johnson are also joining the fold. BYU center Aly Khalifa also committed, but will redshirt the 2024-25 season.
