2024 has seen Sinner win 25 of his 27 games, including the Australian, Miami, and Rotterdam Opens.

Due to this, he has risen to a career-high position of No. 2 in the world, but Sinner did not seem to want to be compared to competitors Djokovic and Alcaraz.

Sinner asserted, “I still think it’s unfair to compare myself to Novak given everything he has accomplished.” “The same holds true for Carlos. Carlos also triumphed more than me.

“I hold great regard for both of them. I simply attempt to play my game and figure out what suits me best before seeing what I can do.

Sinner’s clay court season got off to a good start. He advanced to the Monte Carlo Masters semifinals before falling to Stefanos Tsitsipas, the eventual winner.

The Italian, who was unwell last year and missed the competition, has never advanced past the third round of the Madrid Open.

Sinner does, however, seem eager to surpass his prior best in the capital of Spain: “I’m trying to understand my clay game a little bit better.” We play in an altitude that makes our competition a little bit different from all the others.

“The sphere is elevated. Although it’s flying and moving quickly, I had a lot of trouble in the last years figuring out where I fit in. Therefore, it will be interesting to watch how I perform this year. That, in my opinion, is the most crucial factor.

Sinner is the top seed at a Masters 1000 event for the first time in his career after Djokovic withdrew from the competition in Madrid, but he said that he does not want to put too much pressure on himself.
