Lamar Jackson is a special quarterback for the Ravens, and they’re still figuring out how to best utilize his abilities.
The addition of star running back Derrick Henry to Baltimore’s offense in free agency gives Jackson and the offense more options. In his second season as offensive coordinator, Todd Monken, is already in the process of overhauling the assault.
John Harbaugh, the head coach of Baltimore, is excited to watch how the new components of his offensive strategy come together.
Without a doubt, it will look different, according to Harbaugh. “Keeping things moving is the one thing we really believe in. It will never remain the same.”
Jackson achieved a new height in his passing game last season, recording career highs in passing yards (3,678) and completion percentage (67.2%). He also won his second MVP award. With 821 rushing yards, Jackson still led all quarterbacks, and the Ravens don’t want to lose his ability to put pressure on opponents.
Henry has nearly 10,000 career rushing yards and five seasons with 1,000 yards or more. He is the most accomplished running back Jackson has ever faced. Jackson might try fewer rushes next because of Henry’s presence, but Harbaugh isn’t positive about that.
“Lamar is going to play the way Lamar plays, and that’s what I’m for,” Harbaugh stated. “I adore how he approaches the game. I consider him to be a brilliant football player who is also perceptive and bright. I support his style of play because he has a really distinct and astute perspective on the game. I believe that having Derrick Henry there together with Lamar and the other guys is a winning combination.”
