With the No. 21 pick in the NFL draft, the Miami Dolphins can select a rookie who might have an impact on the team the following year. But according to a trade proposal from Niners Nation, the Dolphins would give the pick to the San Francisco 49ers in exchange for a sizable haul.

The Dolphins would receive the No. 31 pick, a fifth-round, a seventh-round, and a third-round pick in 2025 as part of this trade. It won’t take much convincing, according to Kyle Posey, because the Dolphins have first and second round picks but won’t select again until No. 158.

Posey stated in an article published on April 18 that “Old friend Mike McDaniel has a pick in the first and second rounds, but after picking No. 55, he won’t pick again until No. 158.” Mike was easily persuaded to agree. He gave us a thumbs-up and the “cool glasses” emoji in response to our text. BYU tackle Kingsley Suamataia was selected by Miami in the second round of the draft. Thank you very much, Mike.

Posey is trading up with the Dolphins in order to acquire a wide receiver for the 49ers, giving Brock Purdy another weapon to work with.

“Our man is Brock Purdy. Making sure our quarterback has weapons is the best way to build around him in this draft. Although Jauan Jennings and Deebo Samuel are still active, it seems unlikely that they will still be with the team after the 2024 campaign. I’m trying to think broadly. For the foreseeable future, Purdy has two outstanding wideouts in Brandon Aiyuk and Adonai Mitchell.”
