For Alabama football, the spring transfer portal window has been rather unremarkable. As anticipated, Kadyn Proctor is joining the Crimson Tide again, although as of yet, no scholarship players have joined.

UA coach Kalen DeBoer was questioned on Thursday during an interview on the web show The Next Round Live about the relatively quiet portal period. According to DeBoer, it speaks well about the culture that surrounds the Tide.

After Nick Saban departed in January after leading the Tide for 17 seasons, DeBoer assumed leadership of the team. After Saban left, Alabama players had a 30-day window to use the portal, during which time the team lost some big games.

It’s been a lot quieter this time. Although the link is still accessible until April 30, according to DeBoer, Alabama is currently in a strong position.

He also talked about some things he might check for when UA adds something via the portal. DeBoer stated the Alabama Tide will continue to search for offensive linemen and defensive backs, just like he did before to Saturday’s A-Day game.

DeBoer stated, “You’re just looking for the right guys, the right fit. We have a few scholarships open yet.” “You don’t want to bring one in and lose two or three because of how that comes across and how it’s perceived. I want to be really sensitive to the culture of our team.” However, in the event that someone truly can benefit our program, you’ve always had your eyes open and ears tuned in.
