Malik Jackson played in the NFL for ten seasons with several different teams. He spent the first three seasons, arguably the most important, with the Denver Broncos after being drafted in the fifth round of the 2012 NFL Draft.
He was part of the final team led by Peyton Manning that won the Super Bowl in 2015. Jackson finished the 2015 season with a career-high 45 tackles. He carried that success to Jacksonville, where he did much of the same over the next three seasons.
Jackson finished his career with 292 tackles but wasn’t the same after a season-ending injury in 2019. He was a big part of the Broncos’ 2015 Super Bowl champion defense and then an elite defensive line in Jacksonville.
This year’s NFL Draft will take place in Detroit, Michigan, on April 25 – 27. Virtually all mock drafts have all of the ]\players going into the draft projected to be Day 3 picks. Could the Vols send another hidden gem or two to the NFL?\
James Pearce Jr.’s season got off to a fast start Saturday in Tennessee’s 49-13 win over Virginia. The sophomore edge rusher had a pair of two sacks in the first quarter, using an inside move and a speed rush to turn heads at Nissan Stadium in Nashville.
“James played really well early in the football game,” Tennessee coach Josh Heupel said after the game.
Now the job for defensive coordinator Tim Banks is to make sure it’s more than just a start for Pearce, the former On3 five-star prospect.
