After initially obtaining medical attention, quarterback Lamar Jackson of the Baltimore Ravens was able to resume the game.
After three players were referred for medical attention due to a Cincinnati Bengals star’s tackles, NFL fans were incensed.
Linebacker Logan Wilson was limited to nine tackles in the Bengals’ 34-20 loss to the Baltimore Ravens on Thursday night.
Wilson’s three tackles resulted in medical attention being required for Ravens players.
NFL fans descended upon X, the former name of Twitter, to discuss Wilson’s performance as a result.
One fan wrote, “Logan Wilson needs to be ejected.”
“Logan Wilson needs to be suspended indefinitely,” a second person stated. He has been the NFL’s dirtiest player for a very long time.”
Another person commented, “Throw Logan Wilson out of the league lol.”
Not everyone thought Wilson’s plays were filthy, though.
One tweet said, “Wilson did absolutely nothing but play clean football.”
“Y’all better not make Logan Wilson out to be the bad guy,” a second person said. He’s simply playing football, that’s all.”
“Should the linebacker not tackle?” inquired a third.
In the first quarter, Wilson made a tackle that looked like a hip-drop on tight end Mark Andrews at Cincinatti’s four-yard line.
Andrews remained on the ground, clearly in pain, until he eventually moved to the locker room to have an X-ray.
And with that, he was out of the game.
Wilson also sent quarterback Lamar Jackson to the medical tent after tackling him on the sideline in the second quarter.
The next drive, Jackson was able to get back into the game.
In the midst of the fourth quarter, Wilson tackled receiver Odell Beckham Jr. from behind on a 51-yard gain.
Beckham Jr. appeared uneasy right away as he made his way to the tent and then the X-ray room, where he was deemed unfit to go back.
Not long afterward, he seemed to have a brace on his shoulder.
However, both sides had a difficult night on Thursday in terms of injuries.
Joe Burrow, the quarterback for the Bengals, departed the game in the second quarter after feeling pain in his right hand and wrist after a throw in which he was not touched by an opponent.
Fans became concerned when he seemed to have swelling in his hand, and he was ultimately declared out of the game due to a wrist injury.
Due to a left quad injury, Cincinnati CB Cam Taylor-Britt also left the game in the second half.
