In the third round of the prestigious ATP Masters tournament, a match between the legendary Novak Djokovic and the Italian Lorenzo Musetti will take place in Monte Carlo on Thursday, April 11. The game is scheduled to start at 11:00 Central European Time.
Djokovic continues to break all possible records. He surpassed Federer’s achievement and became the oldest leader in the world rankings. However, this year, Djokovic hasn’t had much to boast about yet. He lost to Sinner in the semifinals of the Australian Open and suffered a surprising defeat to Luca Nardi in Indian Wells. In the first round of the Monte Carlo tournament, Djokovic easily defeated Roman Safiullin with a score of 6:1, 6:2.
Musetti hasn’t particularly impressed his fans this season either. The young Italian is ranked 24th in the world rankings, and his best achievement in 2024 is reaching the round of 16 in the Miami Masters, where he lost convincingly to Alcaraz. Musetti’s season on clay started poorly as he was eliminated in the first round of the tournament in Estoril, Portugal. However, things are looking up for him in Monte Carlo, where he defeated Taylor Fritz and Arthur Fils in straight sets.
