The Seattle Seahawks appear to be moving forward with starting quarterback Geno Smith, who inked a new long-term contract with the team before the start of the 2023 NFL season, but it doesn’t seem to be keeping the team from looking into quarterbacks in the NFL Draft.
According to Aaron Wilson of KPRC, the Seattle Seahawks spoke with Oregon Ducks standout quarterback Bo Nix this weekend as they assess their possibilities for the NFL draft.
In addition to having Geno Smith as their starting quarterback, the Seahawks also added former Washington Commanders starting quarterback Sam Howell to serve as his backup.
We’ll have to see whether or not the team brings in Nix or another quarterback to give them more options at the position in the future.
Seattle Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll will not return to the sidelines next season after being relieved of his duties as head coach, the team announced Wednesday.
However, Carroll will remain with the franchise as an advisor.
“Pete is the winningest coach in Seahawks history, brought the city its first Super Bowl title, and created a tremendous impact over the past 14 years on the field and in the community,” Seahawks chair Jody Allen said in a statement.
