The former coach of Djokovic commented on the termination of cooperation with Novak.
The Croatian specialist, Goran Ivanisevic, has provided his first commentary on the conclusion of his collaboration with Novak Djokovic.
The end of their partnership of more than five years became known at the end of March. A few days later, rumors surfaced that Novak’s new coach would be his compatriot and former tennis player, Nenad Zimonjic.
“I’m not sure how long Novak plans to continue playing, but right now, he has the perfect person by his side – Ziki (Nenad Zimonjic). He’s a great friend of mine, and we’ve been through a lot together, and I love him. He has extensive tennis knowledge, but most importantly, he knows Novak very well.
At the moment, Novak doesn’t need someone entirely new who still needs to get to know him. Let’s say, after 10 days, Novak goes ‘crazy,’ and this new coach of his remains bewildered by what’s happening (laughs).
Ziki can help him in tennis. Novak already knows everything, but it will be beneficial for him to hear the same thing from someone else with a different approach. Ziki understands Novak’s mentality very well; they collaborated in the Davis Cup,” Ivanisevic added.
