The Aggies open the Elijah Robinson era on Saturday when they visit the Wildcats at Kyle Field in their first game without former coach Jimbo Fisher.
Robinson was elevated to the position of interim head coach following Fisher’s dismissal on Sunday, the day after the Aggies humiliated the Mississippi State Bulldogs 51–10. Zach Arnett, the former Bulldogs coach, was let go on Monday.
On Monday, Robinson addressed the media, focusing on the players and the change. According to Ross Bjork, the athletic director at A&M, Robinson was given the role as temporary coach. since he was confident that the players would support him. Robinson is also prepared.
“We’re going to do things that are going to allow those guys to have fun, play with juice and energy, and understand that it’s going to be okay,” Robinson promised. “The players are the most important.” “As a staff, we will collaborate and implement the necessary changes to ensure those guys have a great few weeks and play to the best of their abilities,” Robinson continued.
After joining Fisher at College Station in 2018 as the defensive line coach, Robinson was elevated to the position of assistant head coach and coordinator of the run game in 2022.

Thanks to their victory last week, the Aggies are bowl eligible. They aim to end strongly in their final two games against LSU and Abilene Christian. After beginning the season 4-1, A&M has now dropped three of their previous five games.
