Despite being in the midst of the offseason, fans of the Oregon Ducks football program have a fantastic schedule of games to look forward to come autumn. The Oregon football program may have benefited greatly from joining the Big Ten, which would allow a few of the nation’s top college football teams to crush the Ducks in the West. Michigan, Wisconsin, and Ohio State are included in that.
With NIL deals, the transfer portal, and highly anticipated recruit visits all up in the air this offseason, it’s difficult to predict which games will be close contests and which ones will be landslide victories. However, there’s only one true answer if we were to make a strong recommendation today on which game to pay a lot of money for, which game would determine Oregon’s season outcome, and which nosebleed seats you should be most eager to secure.
It’s simple to argue that the Ducks’ biggest 2024 opponent will be Ohio State. But timing is vital, and the Ducks are lucky to play the Buckeyes early in the season. Not to add, the game will take place in Autzen. It’s going to be a thrilling game that goes right down to the wire, and I think the Ducks have a great opportunity to win this game.
But for the year’s greatest game? Take that, Michigan, the defending national champs in college football. That’s our Midwest matchup. There are many things to enjoy about this game, including the fresh faces it will feature, particularly for both teams’ offensive lines.
It appears that Bo Nix’s exceptional relationship with Troy Franklin in Autzen is over. Their play will be greatly missed on the north side of the Willamette River, even though many of us are excited to see where both players end up at the next level in a few weeks. Thankfully, Michigan finds itself in a similar situation after losing quarterback J.J. McCarthy and linebacker Roman Wilson to the NFL.
