Anthony Williams commits to Texas on January 1. The Longhorns added players to their 2025 class on January 1 because it’s never too early to do so. Anthony Williams, a three-star linebacker in the 2025 class, declared his commitment to Texas.

He is ranked No. 45 among linebackers, No. 66 in the state of Texas, and No. 431 in the nation by 247Sports.

He rejected offers from Baylor, Arkansas, Auburn, and TCU in favour of Texas.

December 29: VISIT TO WILLIAMS SETS Ryan Williams, a five-star pledge from Alabama, recently reclassified from the 2025 class to the 2024 class, and the Texas Longhorns are in the running for him.

In advance of his ultimate decision in February, Williams has scheduled an official visit with the Longhorns for January, according to a recent interview with On3.

Following his reclassification, Williams is now ranked as the nation’s No. 4 wide receiver and No. 12 overall player.

In January, he will also make visits to Alabama and Auburn; the Texas visit will fall between the two Alabama schools.

According to Corey Bender of On3, a Florida recruiting analyst, the Longhorns are expected to defeat 2024 five-star McKinney, Texas, safety Xavier Filsaime from the Florida Gators during what has been a busy recruiting month for coach Steve Sarkisian and staff as they also get ready for the College Football Playoff.

Filsaime is ranked as the second-best safety in the 2024 recruiting class by 247Sports. Kobe Black, a safety from Connally (Waco, Texas), who is ranked as the fourth best in the state, recently committed to the Longhorns on Wednesday.
