With much hype and high hopes of becoming one of the best groups of players the NFL had ever seen at their position, they joined the league. Three years later, though, the quarterback draft class of 2021 appears to be largely made up of one giant flop.

Prior to the draft in April, NFL teams are still evaluating a second highly anticipated class of quarterbacks. Justin Fields and Mac Jones, two of the five quarterbacks selected in the first round of the 2021 draft, were just dealt for pitiful sums of money. Trey Lance, the third, is getting ready to start Year 2 as his second team’s backup. Zach Wilson, the fourth, may not have a bright career in the NFL.

The only quarterback selected in the first round of the 2021 draft who is still thought to be the Jacksonville Jaguars’ best option is Trevor Lawrence, the number one choice. However, Lawrence is still a long way from being a game-changing superstar. Wilson’s time with the New York Jets is obviously coming to an end; they plan to trade or cut him. After Brock Purdy took over as San Francisco’s offensive coordinator, Lance was dealt to the Cowboys as a backup. Fields recently arrived in Pittsburgh from Chicago. Additionally, Jones was effectively sent to the Jaguars by the Patriots, who plan to employ him as Lawrence’s backup.
