The defensive players for the Las Vegas Raiders are a close-knit group. Their bond has resulted in results that the Raiders defence hasn’t seen in many years.

Football is regarded as the best team sport. That is the whole of the Las Vegas Raiders defence, and it couldn’t be more accurate.

Although many teams have strong defences, few in the National Football League can boast a defence that has performed as well as Las Vegas’s has this year.

“I think [Defensive Coordinator] Patrick [Graham], the staff, even when I was there at the linebacker position as a coach, we just kept talking about the process and trusting and believing it and staying within the scheme, letting the plays come to you,” Antonio Pierce, the interim coach, said.

“We are aware of the focus that is placed on our defence. Maxx Crosby, number 98, is on our left side. There are opportunities there for the rest of our defence to create plays. And it provides you that chance if we perform our duties and we perform them flawlessly every time.”

Pierce highlights Graham’s importance on the defence as a leader.

“And you saw last week with Malcolm Koonce, you saw it with [Robert] Spillane, you saw it with Jack Jones, you saw it with Tyree [Wilson],” continued Pierce.

As of right now, you don’t actually need to do all that much—all you’re seeing is everyone helping with a defence that Patrick is working on upstairs. Less is more when it comes to the players’ pace and physicality.

“We give them the freedom to showcase their God-given physical characteristics, and then you place them in a position where they can perform. And that, in my opinion, has come together.

It’s a community that has faith in one another. They enjoy one other’s company.

\Well, I have no idea how it seemed from above or on TV, but it seems really delicious from the sidelines.

It’s nice that guys are enjoying themselves, dude. When your defence is strong, you rejoice in everyone’s accomplishments.”

It looks like the Raiders have established a solid foundation for their defence moving ahead. Their defence has been waiting for the validation it deserves, and that would come from defeating the Kansas City Chiefs on Christmas Day.

On Christmas Day at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, the Silver and Black will play their AFC West rivals, the Kansas City Chiefs. On Monday, December 25, at 1 p.m. EST/10 a.m. PST, don’t miss it.
