The Seahawks should probably give up a second day pick for Justin FieldsLeaving aside the question of whether the Seahawks should complete a trade between Justin Fields and the Bears to replace Geno Smith at a later date, let’s look at what it would cost to complete this deal.

Obviously the real answer won’t materialize until John Schneider calls Ryan Poles and the two general managers start trying to find a solution, but several well-connected NFL analysts and insiders have found some Fields general free market price answers.

“The consensus in an informal poll of league evaluators is that Fields would be worth a second or third round pick in a pre-draft trade,” wrote ESPN’s Courtney Cronin and Jeremy Fowler.

“Compared to previous top 10 picks recently traded, this is better than Trey Lance, who Dallas acquired from San Francisco for a fourth-round pick, but slightly worse than Sam Darnold, who was acquired with a sixth-round pick by the Jets. Carolina for the second and fourth rounds.

“Other general managers around the league appear to be in the same situation, although the better Fields plays during the 2023 season, the higher his price tag will rise.

Charles Robinson of Yahoo! Sports spoke with seven NFL general managers, all of whom offered their hypothetical trade proposals for Fields.
