NJ’S FLORHAM PARK An overview of recent events surrounding the New York Jets:

On paper, Rodgers’ receiving corps when he came 11 months ago was deep and well-rounded, with veterans Garrett Wilson and Corey Davis, as well as recent additions Allen Lazard and Randall Cobb.

1. Wide receiver wanted: With the addition of a new offensive line protection detail for Aaron Rodgers, rather than the Secret Service, the emphasis is now on wide receiver

It was never successful. There are only Wilson and Lazard remaining, and Lazard, who was benched the previous season, might not be playing for very long. Given that the Jets did not address the position in the first wave of free agency, Rodgers, who has stated in numerous interviews that they need to acquire a receiver, may be concerned about the condition of his arsenal.

General manager Joe Douglas is under increasing pressure to produce results for his quarterback, who is expected to become a Hall of Famer, as his alternatives are gradually becoming less.

According to a source, Douglas is still examining the trade market. Prior to Jerry Jeudy and Keenan Allen being sold to the Cleveland Browns and Chicago Bears, respectively, Douglas had some interest in both players. The San Francisco 49ers’ Brandon Aiyuk is reported to have wandering eyes, and Tee Higgins has asked the Cincinnati Bengals for a trade, but there’s no hard proof to support either player’s availability.
