The Boston Bruins’ minimal salary space forced them to shop around in free agency during the 2023 NHL Offseason. They signed Morgan Geekie to a $4 million, two-year contract as one of their actions.

After the trade, Geekie was thought to be the Bruins’ breakthrough prospect. He had just finished 2022–23 with nine goals, eighteen assists, and twenty-eight points, all career highs for the Seattle Kraken in 69 games. When March arrives, it’s reasonable to conclude that he has improved his play significantly.

The 25-year-old Geekie’s powerful offensive contributions have made him a valuable member of the Bruins’ starting nine. He has 16 goals, 34 points, and a plus-8 rating in 63 games this season. In addition, he has been playing exceptionally well lately, recording six goals and an assist in his last nine games.

With each passing game, Geekie has grown in importance and is beginning to look like a real steal for the Bruins. In addition to increasing his attacking output, he has become a better player overall.

Geekie’s objective going forward is to end the season on a high note, as it has already been a career season for him. Considering how strong his recent performances have been, he ought to have no problem accomplishing this.
