This past weekend, superstars Zach Hyman and Ryan Nugent-Hopkins of the Edmonton Oilers transformed from hockey heroes into snow angels in the eyes of several young Edmontonians.

Around 9:30 p.m. on Saturday, two teenagers named Karson Scholtes and Jesse Watson, along with a third buddy, became stranded in the snow while driving around 149 Street and 84 Avenue in the west end.

Scholtes claimed, “It kind of just hit the snowbank after hitting a little bit of a snowdrift with no brakes and no steering out.”

The 2008 Hyundai Accent’s driver, Scholtes, claimed that after getting out of the vehicle, the three of them attempted, but failed, to push it out.

Then, out of nowhere, a Porsche drives up and two males in elegant clothing step out as it pierces through the night’s darkness.

They were simply pushing them as they came up against my bumper. They were simply shoving them out of the snowbank when I placed it in neutral,” Scholtes remarked.

The teenagers are still in disbelief that two of the Oilers’ best players were the kind individuals who pulled over to assist them in pushing their car out.

“The following day, I thought it couldn’t have happened,” Scholtes remarked. “I don’t think that without picture proof, anyone would have believed me.”
