What’s in store for Taysom Hill, Alvin Kamara, and the Saints in the future?
Why Justin Fields Could Be Staked on the New Orleans Saints as a Dark Horse
Reasons why the Saints shouldn’t sign Justin Fields and why he might become available.

QB Justin Fields is being openly pursued by the Chicago Bears. The Bears, who own the top overall pick in the draft, are most likely going to seek a quarterback, most likely Caleb Williams of USC. Chicago is attempting to trade for Fields, who they drafted out of Ohio State with the eleventh overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft.

The Bears would prefer to deal Fields as soon as possible during the official start of the free agency period on March 13. In exchange, Chicago may get a first-round draft pick. All signs point to the Bears requesting a second round selection, a top-tier starter, and either a late second- or early third-round pick. The Pittsburgh Steelers and Atlanta Falcons are reportedly the early favourites to sign Fields. There may also be interest from other clubs that require a quarterback, including the New England Patriots, Washington, or Las Vegas Raiders.

The New Orleans Saints do not fit the description of a team in need of a quarterback. For at least the upcoming season, Derek Carr is the clear favourite to start. Carr is at least among the top half of the league’s passers, even though he didn’t play at all well in the last months of the previous season.

Carr, who is starting his eleventh NFL season, will be 33 this offseason. The Saints will probably want to add a backup quarterback with some starting experience because Jake Haener is unproven and Jameis Winston is nearing free agency.
