The New England Patriots want to make a new beginning.

With Bill Belichick out and Jerod Mayo in, the potential to resurrect the quarterback position after Mac Jones and Bailey Zappe led New England to a miserable 4-13 record in the NFL Draft in April is presented by the No. 3 overall choice.

However, the Patriots are hoping to return to their past, which included six Super Bowl victories in twenty years and a frequently electrifying Gillette Stadium, as they pursue fresh beginnings.

The on-field performance was a major factor in the dull home atmosphere in New England in 2023. Returning to relevance is essential to avoiding disinterest.

According to NFL Network draft expert Daniel Jeremiah, the Patriots’ biggest focus this offseason should be giving the team an intriguing twist.

During a conference call on Thursday, Jeremiah stated, “I didn’t recognize it just being in the stadium last year.” “The building was just so flat, and obviously the team wasn’t good, but every other time I’ve been in there, there has been so much energy and juice.”

Not only was it a poor team, but it was also a dull team. Simply put, there is zero enthusiasm or juice.”

How then does New England attempt to remedy this?

The Patriots passed up the quarterback position in favor of adding the best offensive weapon in the draft when they selected Ohio State wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. in Jeremiah’s most recent mock draft.

Nevertheless, Jeremiah believes that throughout the pre-draft phase, New England will have strong ties to signal callers.

“I think obviously they’ll do their homework on all of the different options there,” added Jeremiah. It seems like a difficult pass to make on a quarterback. There’s no guarantee you’ll be up here once more. There’s no way of knowing what the role will look like in the future.

“I think you’ve got three guys that are worthy of consideration there.”

Caleb Williams of USC, Drake Maye of North Carolina, and Jayden Daniels of LSU are those three.

Williams and Maye are the favorites to be selected by the Chicago Bears and Washington Commanders at the first and second picks, respectively, in the quarterback class.
