The Associated Press reports that defensive player DeMonte Capehart was added back to the Clemson football team after many charges were dropped from his record.
Following his detention on February 6, Capehart was accused of failing to use reasonable caution when operating a motor vehicle and illegally possessing a handgun on campus. According to state court documents obtained by the AP, the charges were dropped as part of a “pretrial intervention programme for first-time offenders charged with nonviolent crimes.”
According to records, the defensive tackle had already paid bonds of $232.50 for the driving charge and $10,000 for the weapons accusation.
According to a Clemson representative, he was added back to the football team in time for Wednesday’s start of spring practice because of the dropped charges and his successful completion of the pretrial programme. The Associated Press reports that defensive player DeMonte Capehart was added back to the Clemson football team after many charges were dropped from his record.

According to 247Sports’ composite rankings, Capehart was a 4-star talent coming to Clemson in the class of 2020.
His greatest season with the Tigers came in 2023, when he had 15 stops, five stops for loss, one sack, one forced fumble, and one pass defensed.
He comes back to a Clemson club that is trying to recover after a 9-4 season in 2023—its lowest winning total since the 2010 campaign. On August 31, the Tigers play Georgia in a highly anticipated game to start the new campaign. Georgia is accused of nonviolent offences.
